Once upon a time, there\u00a0<\/span>lived a King who, despite his luxurious lifestyle, was neither happy nor content. One day, the King came upon<\/span>\u00a0a servant who was singing happily while he worked. This fascinated the King, why was he, the Supreme Ruler of the Land, unhappy and gloomy, while a lowly servant had so much joy. The King asked the servant, \u201cWhy are you so happy?\u201d<\/span>

The man replied, \u201cYour Majesty<\/span>, I am nothing but a servant, but my family and I don\u2019t need too much, just a roof over our heads and\u00a0<\/span>warm food to fill our tummies.\u201d The king was not satisfied with that reply. Later in the day, he sought the advice<\/span>\u00a0of his most trusted advisor. After hearing the King\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0woes and the servant\u2019s story, the advisor said, \u201c<\/span>Your Majesty, I believe that the servant has not been\u00a0<\/span>made part of The 99 Club.\u201d<\/span>

\u201cThe 99 Club? And what exactl<\/span>y is th<\/span>at<\/span>?<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>King inquired. The advisor replied, \u201c<\/span>Your Majesty, to truly know what The 99 Club is, place 99 Gold coins in a bag and Write 100 on a bag then leave it at this servant\u2019s doorstep.\u201d So the King ordered to do it. When the servant saw the bag, he took it into his house. When he opened the bag<\/span>, he let out a greatshout of joy, So many gold coins! He began to count them. After several counts, he was at last convinced that there were 99 coins. He wondered, \u201cWhat could\u2019ve happened to that last gold coin?!\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

He looked everywhere he could, but that final coin was elusive. Finally, exhausted, he decided that he was going to have to work harder<\/span>\u00a0than ever to find that gold coin and complete his collection. From that day, the servant\u2019s life was changed. He was overworked, horribly grumpy, and<\/span>\u00a0castigated his family for not helping him find that<\/span>\u00a0100th gold coin. He stopped singing while he worked. Witnessing this drastic transformation, the King\u00a0<\/span>was puzzled. When he sought his advisor\u2019s help, the advisor said, \u201cYour Majesty, the servant has now officially joined The 99 Club.\u201d<\/span>

He continued, \u201cThe 99 Club is a name given to those people who have enough to be happy but are never content, because they\u2019re always yearning and striving for that extra 1 telling to\u00a0<\/span>themselves, \u201cLet me get that one final thing and then I will be happy for life.\u201d<\/span>

Moral:\u00a0<\/strong>We can be happy, even with very little in our lives, but the minute we\u2019re given\u00a0something bigger and better, we want even more! We lose our sleep, our happiness, we hurt the people around us, all these as a price for our growing\u00a0needs and desires. We must learn to maintain a balance of our need and desires to enjoy a happy\u00a0life with what we already have.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
